작가 이희원은 Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Art de Nancy, France 미술을 공부하고 Le Fresnoy – Studio National des Arts Contemporains, France 졸업 후 2010년 부터 파리에서 활동했다.
2010년 파리의 그랑빨레에서 에어프랑스 젊은 작가상 대상(Jeunes Talents), 파리 백야축제 초대작가(La Nuit Blanche), 파리 빨레드 도쿄에서(Palais de Tokyo)에서 르 프레느와(Le Fresnoy)의 설립 15주년과 20주년 단체전(La Nuit Blanche, Le Fres- noy 15ans Film&Video, Le Rêve des formes, 20ans du Fresnoy)에 참가, 파리의 게떼리릭 특별전(2062, la Gaîté Lyrique, Paris), 국제적 미디 어 아트 페스티벌인 파리의 페스티벌 네모(Trouble Makers, Némo, 104), 몬트리올의 엘렉트라-비엔날레(Elektra-BIAN II, Cinémathèque québécoise, Montreal), 퀘벡의 므와 멀티(Mois Multi14, Avatar, Quebec), 로마의 디지털 라이프(Digital life, La Pelanda Museum, Rome)등 에 참가 하였으며, 또한 개인작업과 더불어 프랑스 돔 뻬리뇽(Dom pérignon P2), 파리의 오페라 햄릿(Opéra Helmet), 칼바도스의 슐룸 버거 프리마(Schlumberger Primat), 메스의 백야축제(Nuit blanche Metz), 서울의 디스트릭트(dstrict) 등에서 다양한 의뢰를 받아 작업을 제작 해오고있다.
“폭포의 낙하를 소멸로 바라보는 것은 가시성이 지닌 함정일 게다.
위로 거슬러 오르는 폭포는 이전의 태고의 시점으로 회귀한다. 소멸과 생성은 하나다.”
